Each lake in the Finger Lakes region has its own personality and nuanced colors. The lakes and watersheds are stunning year-round, but the shapes and colors of the Finger Lakes demand my attention every autumn and I head out to paint. Much of this work is painted en plein air. In recent years I’ve mostly painted around Kekua Lake. In the colder months I use my plein air paintings as references for new studio works in oil and encaustic wax.
